Access Control

About Access Control

Our Coral Gables campus Access Control group is responsible for electronic online/offline access and traditional locksmith services. Our mission is to protect and secure students, faculty, staff, visitors, and University assets. We approach this mission with a strong focus on timely customer and quality service. Access Control is responsible for granting electronic access, as well as the repair and maintenance of electronic mechanisms.  Our group also coordinates the development of locking plans, new installations, issuance/duplication of metal keys, and repair/maintenance of traditional locking mechanisms.
In addition, Access Control is responsible for ensuring compliance with policy and procedures – these can be found here.
For an access emergency please contact UMPD 305.284.6666 or Facilities Work Control at 305.284.8282.
To report non-emergency issues regarding access on the Coral Gables campus, or to place an access-related request, please submit an online service request. This request will be processed in a timely fashion by our Facilities Work Control department.
