Facilities & Operations offers lock and key maintenance to the University community as a funded service. Our services include, but are not limited to:
Once an access request has been submitted, a policy guided approval process begins. Below you will find for levels of access and the approvals required for each.
Access Level 1 - Standard Access
For all University Students, Faculty and Staff upon joining the University community.
Approval Required: None
Access Level 2 - Expanded Access
Expanded access is defined as:
Approval Required: Requires approval from the designated Access Power User for the School/College/Unit or from Access Control via Access Request.
Access Level 3 - 24/7 Access
Approval Required: Requires approval from employee’s direct supervisor & the Dean/Vice President of the School/College/Unit (or designee) when provisioned by a Power User OR UMPD Captain / Lieutenant when programmed by Access Control via Access Request.
Access Level 4 - Comprehensive Access (High Risk)
Approval Required: Requires approval from Access Control Leadership for Facilities/UMIT employees or UMPD Chief of Police (or designee) for all others.
